"Oma Jones has been on the board since 2003. Aside from the list of incredible accomplishments below, Oma has maintained a steadfast voice for the community served by legal aid organizations for more than two decades. She volunteers at every opportunity to lend a helping hand to an array of board committees and subcommittees. Oma's commitment to New Mexico Legal Aid has been demonstrated time and time again. She rarely misses a board meeting regardless of where it is scheduled to occur geographically.
Oma holds an associate degree as a legal assistant that she obtained in 1997. She completed an internship with the Albuquerque Legal Aid organization (with Karen Meyers). Oma has served on the board of directors for Law Access as well. She has experience working with migrant and farmworkers. Oma utilizes her well-rounded hands-on approach to gain an education and expertise on a host of issues designed to ensure that our board in aware of pressing day-to-day concerns for low-income New Mexicans. She has won the Mary Hamilton Award through NLADA and has various awards in other states."
