We know that 92% of the legal needs of low-income Americans are not being met. This shortfall in providing legal help to people eligible for it is the Justice Gap. America is founded on the promise of equal justice for all. This promise is shattered when people are powerless to exercise their right to stay in their homes, keep custody of their children, obtain veterans benefits, recover from disasters and stay safe from domestic violence.

Justice should not be reserved for those that can afford it. LSC is commemorating this milestone anniversary by renewing our commitment to promote equal access to justice in our Nation and to provide high quality civil legal assistance to low-income persons.
