"Marilyn Harp was the second executive director of Kansas Legal Services (KLS), having spent her entire 43 year professional career at KLS, 16 of those years as the ED. Upon her retirement in January 2023, Marilyn has continued to work tirelessly for the poor, lobbying on various issues that are central to the mission of the working poor and volunteering at her county's self help center. Marilyn has been recognized by her peers in several ways. She has received both major awards from the Kansas Bar Association, the Outstanding Service Award and the Weary Award from the Kansas Bar Foundation. She has also received the Jennie Mitchell Kellogg award (named for the first Kansas licensed woman attorney) from the Kansas Women Attorneys Association."
